Breaking News:
Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation Paediatric Loan Equipment Pool.
The various clinicians who deal with children with special needs on a day to day basis came together last year and prepared a list of equipment that could be loaned out to children therefore saving their parents the expense of purchasing the equipment that may be used for only a short period of time. Some pieces are only suitable for use for a very small window of time due to the young patient’s age, weight or level of development. The Equipment Loan Pool system will allow patients to immediately benefit by having use of equipment when needed. When outgrown for whatever reason the equipment will be handed back and passed onto the next young patient. This wish list was presented at the Kids of Macarthur annual ball and guests were invited to pledge to purchase a piece of equipment to establish a paediatric loan pool.

One of the children who has benefited from this is Harrison whose Mum Leonie was kind enough to forward a photo and a message expressing how much this equipment has improved Harrison's life.

New equipment revolutionises the way young emergency and hospital-stay patients are assessed.
Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation has taken delivery of its single most valuable piece of equipment purchased to date. Dr Raymond Chin, Acting Director of Paediatrics at Campbelltown Hospital is delighted with the new acquisition. The mobile, bedside ultrasound system will be used across all paediatric units at Campbelltown Hospital. It will allow us to access and diagnose young patients quickly and accurately. This equipment has time-saving features for emergency situations. Macarthur is one of the first regions in New South Wales to have access to such a sophisticated piece of equipment thanks to Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation and the local community that supports it. The LogiQ e bedside mobile ultrasound system was purchased from funds raised during 2007 and cost in excess of $77,000. Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation experienced one of its most successful years to date last year, largely due to ProCorp’s outstandingly generous project – the Charity Home.
